This blog is dedicated to monitoring the progress of the building of the new Ashmount Special School in Loughborough, Leicestershire. The school caters for a wide range of special educational needs, including severe learning difficulties and profound and multiple learning difficulties.

In a recent Ofsted inspection the school was classed as ‘outstanding’; but the current buildings could not be described using the same word! However things are about to change. We are embarking on a project to build a replacement school. It is in it’s early stages at the moment. Planning approval is anticipated some time in the next few months and building expected to begin later in the year.

There is a long way to go, but things are happening quickly – so come back soon and keep an eye on the exciting progress.
